Dr. Christian A. Bachmann is a research fellow in the subproject ›New Times. Tempo, Acceleration, and the Pluralisation of Temporal Dimensions in Humorous Picture Stories, Cartoons, and Comics between 1900 and 1930‹ within the German Research Foundation-funded Research Unit 2288 Journal Literature. Coming from a background in comparative literature, his research interests include 19th century cartoons and picture stories, comics and graphic novels, 20th century literature, and the mediality and materiality of the printed book.
